BSL Fingerspelling Alphabet

Here is the BSL finger spelling Alphabet so you can check if you were right. You could make your own sentences and see if your friends can read the finger spelling. If you like you could practise fingerspelling and you could speak very softly so that you practise lipreading too. NB be careful when using s and u they can look similar !!!

I expect you can now see that it is quite difficult to use finger spelling but it can be very useful for clarifying names of people, places and things and to identify sounds/lipshapes that have not been lipread correctly.
